first_imgThe incomparable Sharon Jones left this world on November 18th, 2016—four years ago today—but it seems like just yesterday the fan-favorite singer from New York City was still making audiences move to the music with her gift of performing gospel-inspired soul. The former Rikers Island corrections officer amazingly earned her mid-career renaissance starting in the mid-1990s and would go on to release a number of acclaimed studio albums until her death from cancer at just age 60 in 2016.Tributes and musical memorials were shared by fans and Jones’ musical colleagues in the weeks following her departure. One of the more fitting tributes following her death in 2016 came from funk band Lettuce, who shared a video shortly after her passing of their on-stage performance of Isaac Hayes“Do Your Thing” alongside Jones and Alecia Shakour, which originally took place during Georgia’s Major Rager back in 2015.The fan-shot video of the memorable performance can be watched in full below, with Jones seen strutting her way onto the stage beginning at the 3:10 minute mark.Lettuce w/ Sharon Jones, Alecia Chakour – Major Rager 2015[Video: Michael Johnson]It’s almost impossible to tune into the performance without getting all emotional, but if Miss. Jones was here today one can only assume that she would want her fans dancing to the music rather than dwelling on her absence. As the tribute post originally shared by Lettuce fittingly states below, the music world still misses your “Supremely Fiery Spirit,” Ms. Jones!last_img read more

first_imgThe Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network member for Thailand successfully moved the 836-ton (758.4-tonne) consignment consisting of numerous over-dimensional cargoes.  The largest pieces were eight units measuring 14.3 m x 6.5 m, weighing 65 tons (58.9 tonnes) each.  Another eight units weighing 25 tons (22.7 tonnes) respectively and measuring 6.8 m x 3 m x 5.2 m were hauled to the port on low-bed trailers.  The larger units had to be top-and-tail lifted into a horizontal position using two 200-tonne cranes in order to be moved on hydraulic trailers.  The factory where the goods were manufactured is located only 12 km from Mataphut port. However, the cargoes had to be transported on a much longer route in order to avoid overhead obstructions. Four trips carried out over two days were required to shift all the machinery. CEA Projects worked in close coordination with local police, telephone, highway and related authorities to cut power supplies, lift telephone and power lines, remove overhead signs and to negotiate other obstacles in order to complete the project. www.ceaprojects.comwww.cargoequipmentexperts.comlast_img read more

first_imgHugo Lloris is a much loved figure at Tottenham as well as for the France national team. Hugely respected at both club and national camp, Lloris has a calm air of authority and gets universal respect from those who play under him.Lloris’ role as a senior France figure extends beyond that and he’s often speaking to members of his national squad throughout the year, and helping them get along. When the Frenchman signed for Tottenham Hotspur, he had to fight his way into the team, and Florian Thauvin has revealed he encouraged him to continue to do the same at Newcastle United.Thauvin struggled to impose himself at Newcastle, but things have been very different this season with Marseille. The 24 year old has been playing so well that he’s won a place in Didier Deschamps’ squad, and has subsequently been speaking to L’Equipe.Lloris got a mention for handing Thuavin some advice after Tottenham played Newcastle last season. Asked if he’d struggle to settle into the France set-up, Thuavin explained: “I have lots of friends from the time with the selections: Sidibé, Mendy, Bakayoko, Tolisso. There is also Lloris. Last season, he spoke to me after a match between Newcastle and Tottenham. He took ten minutes to tell me not to give up. It had touched me at the time, he was not obliged to do so.”The Tottenham captain’s character is probably such that he actually felt obliged to do so.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is AddictiveForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndo聽多多 Hearmore.asia1969年前出生的香港居民現可免費試戴頂尖的歐洲助聽器聽多多 Hearmore.asiaUndoSingles50Hong Kong: A 40+ Dating Site That Actually Works!Singles50UndoDating.comTung Chung is actually full of single men.
