first_img Share BusinessLocalNews Royal Bank donates to National AIDS Program’s Food Bank by: Dominica Vibes News – July 2, 2015 Tweet The staff of the Royal Bank of Canada has donated a number of grocery items to the National AIDS Program’s Food Bank.The donation, which was made on Wednesday 1 July 2015, included rice, biscuits, beans, macaroni and canned goods, among other items.“It’s really timely, this contribution to the Food Bank of the National AIDS Program,” Coordinator of the HIV/AIDS Response Unit, Nurse Julie Frampton said.“Most persons know its end of financial year in the government system and the food bank is very sparse so this donation is timely and we are very pleased and the clients that will benefit from the donation will be pleased,” Nurse Frampton added.Customer Service Representative and Coordinator for community service at the Royal Bank of Canada, Bianca Payne informed that the donation was made as part of the Bank’s ‘One Million Acts of Good’ promotion.“This was staff’s way of just appreciating persons and giving back to the community. It’s all about love and togetherness, RBC it’s all about you and we’re making it all about them as well,” Ms Payne said. first_imgÁlvaro Sánchez, a reporter for Costa Rica’s TV Channel 7 news, Telenoticias, was attacked by a mob Monday night in Desamparados, south of the capital, where he and fellow journalists were covering an evolving crime.Sánchez told the daily La Nación that he, a cameraman and an assistant were reporting on a man wielding a gun on the street when supposed family members of the man told them to leave and then attacked the cameraman.The cameraman and assistant retreated to their vehicle, but Sánchez was surrounded by the mob, which threw him to the ground and starting kicking him. He managed to escape when two Judicial Investigation Police drove by and opened the back door so he could jump in, Sánchez told La Nación.Sánchez’s wife, Kimberly Chaves Campos, said in a Facebook post that her husband’s Achilles tendon was “completely ruptured, requiring surgery and possibly two months in a cast.”Sánchez filed a criminal complaint against his aggressors on Tuesday.
