Hundreds protest train services disrupted

first_imgKolkata: Hundreds of passengers in Sealdah South section faced inconvenience on Tuesday after some locals put up a rail block at Chanditala demanding construction of a level crossing following a death in the area.One Kaustav Chakraborty, a local youth, was killed after being run over by a local train on Monday when he was crossing the railway track. The rail block affected services with various local trains being stranded at different stations.The rail block was lifted following the intervention of the senior railway officials who assured to look into the demands of the locals. They urged the railway officials to construct a level crossing in the Chandipur area that can help check accidents. Normalcy was restored after one hour the block was removed.last_img
